Note: You do not have to enter every tournament (although you may want to if you want to try to win Player of the Year). You can pick and choose any tournament you would like to participate in. They will all be held at separate times, so you have the opportunity to play in all of them if you would like.

Ballblazer – Atari 7800

Controller: Suncom TAC-2

Format: Group Play then Single Elimination. Two out of three games. Coin flip to determine first or second player. Winner and runner up of each group advance to Single Elimination Bracket. Each match consists of two out of three games. Three minute games. Player with the most points (score circles filled in with a player’s color) at the end of the game period wins. In the event of a tie, the game goes into overtime, and the next player to score wins. If there is a tie for runner-up in the group, the player with the most goals scored among the tied players will be the runner-up.

RealSports Boxing – Atari 2600

Controller: Suncom TAC-2

Format: Group Play then Single Elimination. Coin flip to determine first selection of character. One Match. Winner and runner up of each group advance to Single Elimination Bracket. Each match consists of a single game. Winner is determined by either a knockout or TKO. If there is a tie for runner-up in the group, the player with the most points scored among the tied players will be the runner-up.

Warlords – Atari 2600

Controller: Atari Paddle Controller

Format: 3 Wars. Top 2 players with most scores advance.

RBI Baseball – NES

Controller: Original NES-004 Controller

Format: Group Play then Single Elimination. The coin flip winner will choose the match-up (i.e. the two teams). The coin flip loser then selects either (a) one of the two teams or (b) his preferred side. If the coin flip loser selects his preferred side, the coin flip winner selects a team first. The coin flip winner can only select a particular match-up once throughout the entire tournament. For instance, if Player A wins the toss and selects Houston-St. Louis, Player A cannot call that exact match-up for the rest of the tournament. Player B, however, is free to select that match-up later in the tournament. American and National are the only two teams which can never be picked. One 25-minute timed game.

Super Dodgeball – NES

Controller: Original NES-004 Controller

Format: Group Play then Single Elimination. Coin flip winner gets choice of first or second player or first choice of team. One 25-minute timed game.

Tecmo Bowl – NES (Eric Dickerson Version)

Controller: Original NES-004 Controller

Format: Group Play then Single Elimination. The coin flip winner will choose the match-up (i.e. the two teams). The coin flip loser then selects either (a) one of the two teams or (b) his preferred side. If the coin flip loser selects his preferred side, the coin flip winner selects a team first. The coin flip winner can only select a particular match-up once throughout the entire tournament. For instance, if Player A wins the toss and selects Chicago-Minnesota, Player A cannot call that exact match-up for the rest of the tournament. Player B, however, is free to select that match-up later in the tournament.

Special Rules: If a player is caught watching their opponent make play calls, an initial warning will be made. If this reoccurs, it will result in immediate ejection.

NHL ’94 – Sega Genesis

Controller: Genesis MK-1653 6-Button Controller

Format: Group Play then Single Elimination. Regular Season, Head to Head, 5 Minute Periods, Penalties On, Manual Goalies, Line Changes Off, Single Game. Coin flip winners gets choice of home or away or first choice of team.

Road Rash II – Sega Genesis

Controller: Genesis MK-1653 6-Button Controller

Format: Group Play then Single Elimination. Mano A Mano, 3 Difficulty, 2 out of 3 races (Alaska, Hawaii, Tennessee). Coin flip winner gets choice in first or second player.

Street Fighter 2: SFC – Sega Genesis

Controller: Genesis MK-1653 6-Button Controller

Format: Group Play then Single Elimination. Default Controller Layout Champion Mode,  2/3 Rounds, 2/3 Games, No Handicap.

  • Choosing Sides
    • When both players are at the game console, they must come to an agreement which side of they machine they will play on (who will sit on 1p and who will sit on 2p)
    • If an agreement cannot be reached, a coin flip will determine who gets to pick their side.
  • Side and Character Courtesy
    • As a courtesy, the player who received his choice of which side to play on (1p vs 2p) can elect to choose his character first.
    • This is strictly a courtesy. A player is in no way required to do so.
    • Winner must keep same character.

Format: Group Play then Single Elimination. Default Controller Layout. Head to Head, 2/3 Rounds, 2/3 Games.

Format: Group Play then Single Elimination. 2 Player Match Race, 100cc, 3 out of 5 races. Coin flip winner gets first choice of character or choice of Cup.
